Adeline E. Williams, age 85, of Oshkosh, passed away Sunday, October 24, 2004 at Theda Clark Medical Center surrounded by her family. Adeline was born November 25, 1918 in Iola, Wisconsin to Adolph and Ebba (Dahl) Erickson. On February 10, 1934 she married George A. Williams in Wittenberg, Wisconsin.
Adeline was a member of First English Lutheran Church of Oshkosh. She was a full-time homemaker and enjoyed gardening, playing cards, shopping and most of all spending time with her large family and many friends.
Adeline is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, George Williams; a son Donald (Betty) Williams of Neenah; and a daughter, Jean (Ronald) Schlaeger of Oshkosh. She is also survived by one sister: Rosella Mc Lean of Oshkosh; one sister-in-law: Florence Fenske of Oshkosh; nine grandchildren; Gary (Chris) Williams of Oshkosh; Karen Williams of Oshkosh; Diana (Tom) Schultz of Appleton; Larry (Karen) Williams of Waupaca; Bruce (Carol) Williams of Iola; John (Debra) Williams of Brown Deer; Katharine (Barbara Holbrook) Romme of St. Paul, Minnesota; Patricia (Scott) LeMay of Oshkosh; Steven (Dawn) Romme of Oshkosh; 16 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren: Mc Kaylyn, Devon, and Kenya along with many nieces and nephews. Preceding Adeline in death are her parents; two brothers: Edmund and Raymond Erickson; son-in-law: William A. Romme; and a great-grandson: Michael J. LeMay.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 28, 2004 at 12:00 p.m. in First English Lutheran Church, 1013 Minnesota Street, with Reverend Chuck Fluegel officiating. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park following the services. Family and friends may call at the church on Thursday from 10:00 to 12:00 p.m.
The family wishes to extend their gratefulness to the doctors, nurses, and 5th floor staff at Theda Clark Medical Center for their compassionate care and concern for our beloved Adeline. "God saw she was getting tired, and a cure was not to be, so He put His arms around her and whispered "Come with Me".
