Obituary

Albert Pfaffenroth, 91, formerly of Pickett, went to his Heavenly home on Thanksgiving Day, November 22, 2007, at Park View Health Center following a lengthy illness. Albert was born October 28, 1916 the son of John and Katherine Pfaffenroth and grew up in the Pickett area. He married Martha Schuppe of Fond du Lac on January 23, 1943. She preceded him in death on January 17, 1991.
Albert had a special heart for young people and started the Hi-C Club, a high school ministry. He was also involved as a 4-H leader, Sunday school teacher and was active in the Awana Club Youth Ministry even into retirement. He has been a longtime member of Plymouth Congregational Church, served as a church elder and was a layman speaker. He enjoyed visitation to those hospitalized, the shut-ins and those in nursing homes. He was also actively involved in the Gideon Association and the Christian Businessmen's Association in Oshkosh. He always had a positive attitude knowing that God was faithful and would always remind us to "Keep looking up". He was involved in farming in rural Pickett and also had a farm equipment sales business.
He is survived by his son, James (Sharon) of Uranium City, Canada and their children: Heidi (John) Wentworth - Virginia, Timothy (Laurie) Pfaffenroth, Heather (Nathan) Wolfe, Rachel (Adam) Shaffer - all in South Carolina, Daniel (Jana) Pfaffenroth - Wyoming, and Rebekah Pfaffenroth - Canada; his daughter, Kathryn (Gary) Beiser of Fond du Lac and their daughter, Sarah Beiser; and son, Steven (Sandra) of Oshkosh and their children: Paul and Cassie Pfaffenroth. His great-grandchildren are Jessica, James and Chelsea Wentworth, Jonathan, Allison, Amanda and Madison Pfaffenroth, Katherine, Jacob and Ella Wolfe.
Also surviving are his sisters: Lydia Luft, Ruth Haffner, Mary Ann (David) Glaze all of Oshkosh, Eleanore Dahmer of Nebraska, Catherine Irmer of Arizona, Dorothy Stuhlmacher of Milwaukee and Irene (Don) Ruhl of Colorado; brothers: Lawrence (Dorothy) and Samuel (Delpha) both of Oshkosh; brother-in-law: Samuel Schuppe of Illinois; and sisters-in-law: Margaret Pennings and Anna Schuppe of Fond du Lac and Elizabeth Jaber of Florida. There are also many nieces and nephews and a long time friend of the family, Vern Gauger.
Preceding him in death were his wife Martha; his parents; brothers: John and David; sisters: Margaret Daubert and Lorraine Pfaffenroth; in-laws: Alex Daubert, George Luft, Ed Dahmer, Jacob Haffner, Arthur Irmer, Donald Stuhlmacher, Annice Jaber, Alfred Pennings and Fred and Sara Schuppe.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM on Monday, November 26, 2007, at Plymouth Congregational Church, 1325 Georgia Street in Oshkosh, with Pastor Rick Hopkins officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Monday from 9:30 AM until the time of the service. Burial will follow the service at Liberty Prairie Cemetery in Pickett and all are invited to return to church for a luncheon. Please share condolences at www.seefeldfuneral.com.
