Albert "AL" Schneider, 80, of Oshkosh, passed away suddenly on December 2, 2015, at University Hospital in Madison. Al was born in Oshkosh on January 17, 1935, to Albert and Lavina (Benedict) Schneider. He married Frances Bloechl on October 18, 1958, in Oshkosh. He worked at Marquardt Millwork and then at Menasha Corporation for 29 years before retiring.
Al was an avid sportsman. He enjoyed hunting and a few years ago fulfilled his dream of taking several generations duck hunting in North Dakota. He was a longtime member of the Van Dyne Sportsman's Club; he took pleasure in going there to shoot or drink coffee with his friends on Thursday mornings. He had recently joined the Fox Valley Trap Club.
Albert is loved and will be missed by his wife, Fran Schneider, of Oshkosh; children, Desiree (Gary) Hazelberg of Green Lake, Timothy (Lisa) Schneider of Oshkosh and Dina (Gary) Troudt of Oshkosh; grandchildren, Trent (Samantha) Hazelberg, Clayton (Audra) Hazelberg, Amanda (Andrew) Woller, Mitchell Troudt, Kristin Troudt; great grandchildren Maximus, Everleigh and Carson; brothers, Oura (Charlotte), Warren (Pat) and Wayne (Barbara); sister, Rose Mary Sheldon; other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, JoAnn. A private memorial gathering will be held at a later date. A memorial is being established in Al's name.
