Obituary

Alice Anna Amundson Cundy was born in Princeton on July 6, 1931, daughter of the late William Alfred and Erna Tillie Menge Fenske. She passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2004, at Omro Care Center.
Her family moved to Oshkosh in 1940. She married Richard A. Amundson, Sr. in Oshkosh on October 14, 1950. They divorced in October 1958. She married George Earl Cundy in Oshkosh on May 30, 1964. He preceded her in death November 21, 1978. She was a member of Martin Luther Evangelical Lutheran Church of Oshkosh.
Survivors are her son, Richard A. (Sharon) Amundson, Jr. of Stockbridge; granddaughters, Angela Marie and Nicole Anna Amundson; great-granddaughter, Saige; sister-in-law, Joyce Fenske of Green Bay; four nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Pugh, brother, Alfred Fenske and sister-in-law, Marion Fenske.
Alice enjoyed bowling. She bowled at the T&O Friday nights on the Social League and the Eagles Wonder Mixed League on alternate Saturdays, serving as secretary on the mixed league for many years.
She worked outside the home most of her adult life. Her next to last job was as a sewing machine operator at Oshkosh B'Gosh, Inc. where she became involved in union activities. She was a past President of Local Union 126 of the United Garment Workers of America and served on the Executive Board for 10 years. She went on to become an International Representative and Organizer for the U.G.W.A., servicing locals in Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Tennessee and Kentucky. She retired July 1, 1990.
Services for Alice will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 31st, at Martin Luther Ev. Lutheran Church, 1526 Algoma Blvd., the Rev. Jeffrey Berg officiating. Interment will follow at Lake View Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Tuesday at the Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 300 N. Eagle Street, from 4-8:00 PM and at the church on Wednesday beginning at 10:00 AM. A memorial has been established.
