Obituary

Alice Rose Parsons, age 86, of Eureka, passed away, Saturday, January 19, 2008 at Juliette Manor in Berlin where she resided for eleven days. Alice was the first of seven children born to Peter and Hilda (Salchenberger) King on January 27, 1921 in Cazenovia, WI. She grew up on the family farm, attended Cazenovia Grade School and graduated from Cazenovia High School in 1938. She then moved to the Baraboo/Wisconsin Dells area where she was a waitress in supper clubs. She was also a building supervisor at the Badger Ordnance Works in Baraboo during World War II. She met Kenneth Parsons while she was a waitress and he was a soldier during the war. They married on August 31, 1946 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church near Cazenovia, and then moved to Eureka into the Parsons' family home where they resided together for over 61 years. Alice's most important job was as a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and there were many stories to tell.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; two sons, Charles (Karen) of Ripon, Gerald (Sharlene) of Berlin; 4 grandchildren, Becki (Chris) Baird of Ripon, Nick Parsons (fiancée Kim Mechem) of Milwaukee, Jon (Brenda) Parsons of Wauwatosa and Katie Parsons (special friend, Everett Reese, III) of Beloit; great-grandsons, Brendan and Dayton Baird of Ripon. She is also survived by a sister in law, Dorothy Harron of Oshkosh; two nephews, Richard (Millie) Harron of Oshkosh and James Harron of Omro; one niece, Janet (Charles) Aaronson of Oshkosh and many great nieces and nephews. Alice is also survived by special friend, Corliss (Besk) Zerbe of Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Hilda King; brothers, Lawrence, Clarence, Jerome and Richard; sisters, Elizabeth and Genevieve; mother and father in law, Albert and Ethel (Tritt) Parsons and brother in law, Clement Harron.

Per Alice's wishes, there will be no visitation or service. Cremation has taken place. Private family burial will take place at a later date at Rushford Cemetery.

Special thank you to the staff of Juliette Manor of Berlin and Dr. James Williams and staff of Green Lake for their loving care and compassion shown to Alice.
