Alice M. Schlichting, age 83 of Pine River, formerly of Oshkosh, entered into her heavenly home on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 while at Mercy Medical Center. She was born June 13, 1925 in Oshkosh to John and Irma (Kundinger) Merkel. Alice married Raymond Schlichting on July 6, 1940 and he preceded her in death on December 29, 1977. She worked at Pluswood of Oshkosh for 15 years and retired in 1970. Alice loved spending time with her family and friends and enjoyed crafts, traveling, floral design and her cat Pugsley. She will be sadly missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and special lifelong friend Pauline.

Alice is survived by her loving children: Joyce (Richard -deceased) LaMore of Sarasota, Florida, Beverly (Larry - deceased) Tyson of Oshkosh, Barbara (Jerry) Much of Pine River, James (Mary) Schlichting of Oshkosh, and Donald (Carol) Schlichting of Pine River. Alice is further survived by her brother Carl Merkel of Marinette and sister-in-law Ella Schlichting of Oshkosh, 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews that she cherished very much. Alice was preceded in death by her husband, parents and infant brother.

Funeral services for Alice will take place at 11:00 am Monday, March 16, 2009 at Seefeld Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street with Karen Nesbit officiating. A time of visitation and sharing of memories will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 3:00pm to 6:00pm and again on Monday from 10:00am until the time of the service.
