Alleane M. Huntington, age 92, of Oshkosh, died Friday morning, October 15, 2004 at Bethel Home. She was born on August 18, 1912 in Creswell, North Carolina to Harry and Adeline (Zimmerman) Bruhn. Alleane married Glen Huntington on December 11, 1930 in Winona, Minnesota and he preceded her in death on October 7, 1970. Alleane and Glen owned and operated the Sno-Cap Drive-In in Oshkosh from 1950 to 1961.
Survivors include one daughter: Shirley (Gerald) Sitter; one son: Darrel (Roberta) Huntington; five grandchildren: William Sitter, Jerry (Marjie) Sitter, J. Scott (Dara) Sitter, Alan (Debra) Huntington, and Carol (Greg) Hensel; ten great-grandchildren: Bill, Andy, Courtney, Kendele, Greg, Kimberly, Adam, Ryan, Allison, and Abigail; and two great-great-granddaughters: Janna and Madysen. Preceding Alleane in death are her husband, three brothers, two sisters, and two great-granddaughters.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 18, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street, with Reverend Thomas McFarland officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery at La Crosse, Wisconsin. Family and friends may call on Monday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral chapel. A special thank you to the staff of Bethel Home for the tender care and concern given to Alleane during her stay there.
