Amanda L Prado, age 24, of Omro, was taken from us, Wednesday, January 15, 2014, as the result of a car accident. Amanda was born in Milwaukee on February 2, 1989, to Michael and Cherie (Mihm) Prado. She graduated from St. Mary Springs High School in Fond du Lac, and received her Bachelors' of Science degree in Biology from UW Milwaukee. She loved working at Sherman Consulting as an administrative assistant and dreamed of going back to school to be a Nurse Practitioner specializing in Diabetes. Amanda was an avid lover of Disney movies, a good book and she lived and breathed the Packers. She will forever be remembered for her big heart and contagious laugh. She spent six summers working at Camps Barton & Joslin in North Oxford, Massachusetts, a camp for children with diabetes; this became her passion.
Amanda is loved and will be missed by her parents, Cherie and Michael Prado; sisters, Aubrie (Jeramie Goratowski) Prado and Megan (Corey Kirchner) Prado; brother, Michael Prado; grandmother, Virginia Prado; aunts and uncles, Cindy (Richard) Herman; cousin, Eric (Crystal) Herman; David (Jessica) Prado, Karen Prado and; her dogs, Bella and Brody and many friends near and far. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Marvin and Maryan Mihm and Miguel Prado; uncle, Marty Mihm; and cousin, Erin Herman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2014, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 730 Madison Ave., Omro, with Sr. Pam Biehl and Rev. Doug Le Captain officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday at St. Mary Catholic Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
