Amber A. Samuel, age 87, of Oshkosh, died Friday morning, September 21, 2007 at Bethel Home. She was born on February 15, 1920 in Oshkosh to George and Edna (Zarling) Golz. Amber married Alvin Samuel on May 6, 1966 in Oshkosh and he preceded her in death on August 3, 1974.
Amber was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Past President of Oshkosh Public Museum Auxiliary, Oriental Chapter #16 of Eastern Star, Bethel Shrine #2, enjoyed her extensive travels with Alvin, and was an original member of "Card Club Ladies," founded in 1946.
Survivors include a son, Charles Krause of Gaithersburg, Maryland; three grandchildren, Jennifer (Pete) Kalmon, Christopher (Stehli) Krause, and Mischa Krause; three great-grandchildren, Braeden, Kyra, and Benjamin; a sister, Joyce (Don) Thurwatcher of Oshkosh; two nieces, who were Amber's life-lines, Patricia Auger and Kathleen Nieft, both of Oshkosh; and several other nieces and nephews. Preceding Amber in death are her husband; parents; two sisters, Lucille Holtz and Lorraine Borgman; and a brother, Charles Golz.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 28, 2007 in Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street, at 11:30 a.m. with Reverend Tim Greenwald officiating. Inurnment will be Lake View Memorial Park. A time of visitation and sharing of memories will be held on Friday from 10:30 until service time at the funeral chapel.
