Amber J. Schraa died peacefully at Aurora Medical Center on Friday, February 16, 2007. She was born in Oshkosh on May 2, 1915 to Rees and Jennie (Thomas) Williams. Her marriage to William N. Schraa was held at St. Peter Catholic Church on February 27, 1935. He preceded her in death on September 5, 1995.
Fond memories will be cherished by her children, Mary Jo Jones of Neenah, Judith (Robert) Schumann and David Reese Schraa both of Oshkosh, Jayne (Fred) Odell of Naples, Florida and Richard (Linda) Schraa of Greenville along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Her siblings, Mabel Fraedrich, Clifford and Catherine Williams preceded her in death.
Amber loved to travel and was quite fond of bowling. She had a variety of interests through the years and was often exploring new hobbies. She had lived independently until just a few weeks ago and she greatly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends. Amber had been a member of St. Peter Catholic Church since her marriage, was a member of the Catholic Women along with the Druids (a Welsh Society group). She volunteered with voter registration at the voting poles and proudly cast her ballot during each election.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 20th, at St. Peter Catholic Church, 435 High Avenue, Oshkosh. The Rev. Robert Kollath will be the celebrant. Family and friends may gather at St. Peter's beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will be at Zoar Cemetery by her beloved husband.
