Ann E. Mossak (nee Ruzic) age 96, passed away surrounded by her loving family in her home on Tuesday, November 9, 2021. She was born on January 11, 1925 on the family farm in Willard, Wisconsin, the "Babe" of six children born to Matt and Ana (Buttvick) Ruzic. On November 11, 1950 she married her loving spouse, Edward G. Mossak, at the parish house of Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death in August, 1998. Ann was proud of her Croatian heritage.
Early in life Ann was employed as her own version of Rosie the Riveter as a machinist in Milwaukee on military tank parts for World War II. After raising her children she was employed by the Omro Public School District where she was known as the smiling lunch lady. Ann was a long-time volunteer at St. Vincent de Paul Society Thrift Store in Oshkosh, where she enjoyed sorting donations, "Shopping at the Boutique", and lively conversation with friends. She also was proud to be support staff and parent for the Oshkosh Warriors Drum and Bugle Corps.
Ann saw the simple pleasures of life…cooking and sharing great food, enjoying homemade chocolate chip oatmeal cookies, praying the rosary daily, and most importantly, sharing her time with family. She was a present day example to all in trusting in her faith, having unequaled strength in caring for others especially her Eddie, remembering family milestones through cards and thoughts, and gifting many with her delicious potica (Croatian nut bread).
Ann was a proud mother to her children: Barry (Deborah) of Colorado, Ann Marie (Michael) of Indiana, Patti (Bob) of Minnesota, Janice of Omro, and Brian (Ingrid Jones) of Redgranite; eight grandchildren: Andrew, Ana, Sarah (Thor), Matt (Katy), Emily (Michael), Mike, Maryann, and Chad (Catherine); and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two brothers and three sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 15, 2021 at Kwiatkowski Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, November 16 at ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 730 Madison Ave., Omro, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral at 11:00 a.m., with Fr. Joe Mattern officiating. Burial will be in Omro Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to Larson-Winchester Lions Club Medical Equipment Loan Locker, P.O. Box 92, Larsen, Wisconsin 54947, or Generations of Giving, a program to help fulfill the wishes of hospice and home care patients, 1028 S. Main St, Suite C, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin 54935.
