Ardella E. Hurst, age 92, of Oshkosh, died Saturday, April 26, 2014, at Bethel Home. Born on February 5, 1922, in Oshkosh, the daughter of Robert and Della (Ringling) Kitz, Ardella married Harry P. Hurst on May 12, 1942, in Oshkosh. Harry preceded Ardella in death on April 26, 1996.
Ardella was employed by Miles Kimball Company for 35 years working as a supervisor in the Printing Division. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, having been involved in many activities over the years. She was well known for her love of seasonal decorating and for her expertise as a crafter, delighting many with her original creations. Also an avid bowler, she participated in women's leagues and mixed couples leagues with her husband, Harry.
Survivors include a daughter, Judy Hurst of Arcadia, California; a son, Terry (Patty) Hurst of Tripoli, Wisconsin; grandsons, Jason Hurst and Jeremy Hurst; and great-grandchildren, Dawson, Madysen, Parker, and Savannah. Also surviving Ardella is a special niece, Bonnie McHugh of Grapevine, Texas, and other loving nieces and nephews. The last of her generation, Ardella was preceded in death by all her siblings.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. in Bethel Home Chapel with Chaplain David Rumbold officiating. A time of visiting and sharing of memories will be held at the chapel on Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow the service at Riverside Cemetery.
