Arleen M. Clausen, age 78 of Oshkosh, died on Saturday, October 18, 2008, at St. Luke's Hospital in Milwaukee, due to complications with heart surgery. She was born in Oshkosh on July 19, 1930, to the late Willis Carpenter and Margaret (Edwin) Wrage Brandenburg.
Arleen lived in Fort Myers, Florida for 25 years. She was outgoing, loving and vibrant. She had a marvelous outlook on life, "Be happy and laugh." She was a comedian. She loved to travel and to be surrounded by her children. When her children were younger she could be found at 4-H horse shows, or chauffeuring her children from here to there.
Arleen is survived by her daughters: Wanda Gonzalez of Oshkosh, Sue (John) Miles of Port Angeles, Washington, and Teri (Bill) True of Green Bay; grandsons, Josh Gonzalez and Alexander "AJ" True; aunt, Grace Wrage; and nieces and nephews. She is further survived by many dear friends, including Faye and Ralph Sites of Florida. In addition to her parents, Arleen was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter Roth; later husband, Ervin Clausen Jr.; and siblings: Alma "Dolly" Jones, Shirley Ziebell, and Ralph Brandenburg.
A memorial service will be held for Arleen and her late husband, Ervin, at 6:00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 300 N. Eagle Street. A time of gathering and sharing support will be held at the funeral chapel on Tuesday, from 4:00 P.M. until the time of the service. Condolences may also be shared online at www.seefeldfuneral.com.
