Arlene M. Schroeder, age 73, passed away peacefully at her home, with her loving family surrounding her, on Saturday, January 26, 2008. She was born on February 21, 1934 in Oshkosh to Lores and Mary (Embs) Radloff. Arlene married Donald Schroeder on May 1, 1954 in Oshkosh at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Arlene was employed by Doctor Danforth and Dr. Steen early in her married life. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Oshkosh Country Club, Forest Country Club of Ft. Myers, Florida, Women's Junior League, Ladies Benevolent Society, and was a volunteer for the Red Cross and EAA. Arlene enjoyed world travels, golf, oil painting, reading, bird-watching, and spending summers in Wisconsin and winters in Florida.
Her marvelous outlook on life can never be replaced, and left to mourn her passing is her loving husband, Donald Schroeder of Oshkosh; her two sons and daughters-in-law, Steven and Debbie Schroeder of Grayslake, Illinois, and Larry and Sandy Schroeder of Oshkosh; four grandchildren, Brian Schroeder of Dallas, Texas, Stephanie Schroeder of Bloomington, Illinois, Lindsay (Paul) Kieckhafer of Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin, and Leslie (fiance-Josh Robinson) Schroeder of Menasha; a brother, Charles (Karen) Radloff of Edina, Minnesota; and four "granddogs". Preceding Arlene in death are her parents and a brother, Merwin Radloff.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul United Church of Christ, 1250 Leonard Point Road, with Reverend Letha Haucke officiating. A time of visitation and sharing of memories will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street, and on Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Paul U.C.C. or the Ladies Benevolent Society in Arlene's memory.
