Arnold "Arnie" Smick, age 65, of Omro, passed away suddenly at his home on Monday afternoon, March 29, 2010. Arnie was born in Oshkosh on December 31, 1944, the son of LaVern and Albertina (Folske) Smick. He married Janet Schirmer on June 29, 1999.

Arnie enjoyed bowling, golf, playing cards and spending time with family and friends. He retired from Butkiewicz & Sons in Omro, although he still liked to work there part time.

Arnie is survived by his wife, Janet of Omro; his children, Michelle (David) Soules of Greenville, Randy Smick of Texas, and Shawn (Greg) Fox of Oshkosh; his grandchildren, Justin Buttles, Gage Chier and Olivia Fox; his mother, Albertina Smick of Oshkosh; his sister, Pam (Frank) Metko of Oshkosh; his niece and nephew, Rhonda Kubasta and Dean Metko; aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Arnie was preceded in death by his Dad.

In respect to Arnie's memory, the family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Thursday, April 1, 2010 from 4 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, a memorial in Arnie's name has been established.
