Arnold F. "Arnie" Bessette, age 82 of Oshkosh, died at Aurora Medical Center on Saturday, August 8, 2009. He was born in Oshkosh to Francis and Laura (Bertram) Bessette on April 16, 1927. On February 15, 1947 he married Jacqueline Shew.

Poor health required Arnie to retire early from Kimberly-Clark in 1984, having worked there for 37 years as a machine operator. He spent the rest of his life devoted to his family, especially Jackie, his wife of 62 years, and granddaughter, Jennifer whom he adored. He enjoyed watching baseball and football on television, especially the Cubs.

Surviving Arnie is his wife, Jackie Bessette of Oshkosh; son, Robert (Sandra) Bessette of Oshkosh; granddaughter, Jennifer (Robert) Thomer of Omro; and great-granddaughter, Hannah Thomer. In addition to his parents, Arnie was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
