Arnold Carl Kirk age 56, "The Big A" or "Butch" to those who loved him most, passed away peacefully after a short illness surrounded by his wife and children on October 29, 2003 at Theda Clark Medical Center. He was born August 11, 1947 in Waupun, WI. The son of Arnold Sr. and Frances Harmsen Kirk. Butch graduated from Berlin High School in 1965, served in the National Guard and was a truck driver by trade. He married Christine Grimm on February 14, 1992 in Las Vegas, NV. Butch had a keen knack for telling jokes. He further enjoyed socializing with family and friends, hunting, Harley Davidson's and perfecting his skills as grill master.

Arnie is survived by his wife; Christine Grimm-Kirk, son; Jeff (Pam Wittnik) Kirk of Winneconne, daughter; Julie Kirk of Berlin, step-children; Jay Fleck and Christa Lee (Thomas) Brynwood, three grandchildren; Brittian, Thomas III, and Forrest. He is further survived by his mother; Frances Kirk of Eureka, siblings; Margaret "McGee" (Steve) Minsky of Berlin, Ronald (Linda) Kirk of Berlin, and Pam (Dave) Johnson of Eureka, mother-in-law; Ruth Grimm of Oshkosh, sister-in-law; Catherine (George) Bolton of N.J., his children's mother; Donna Fritz of Berlin, and many nieces, nephews, great-nephews and friends. Butch was preceded in death by his father Arnold Sr., and brother Carl Andrew.

Visitation will be held on Saturday November 1, 2003 at the Omro Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be directed to the Winchester Lions Club or the Head Injury Unit at Juneau, WI.

The family sincerely appreciates all of the special care provided by all the doctors, nurses, caretakers, family and friends for their continuous support since Arnie's return to us in the community.
