Obituary

Arthur L. Bradley, age 72, lost his battle with cancer on Wednesday, September 23, 2009, at his home in Omro, WI, with his family by his side. Artie was born on October 9, 1936, to the late Arthur and Adeline (Anklam) Bradley. He grew up on the family farm in Fisk, WI, and graduated from Omro High School in 1954. It was in high school where he met his future wife, Marilyn Fiegel. Artie and Marilyn were married on October 8, 1955, at the Elo United Methodist Church in Pickett, WI. Artie and his father worked the family farm together until 1971 when Arthur Sr. retired and Artie went to work for Oshkosh Redi-Mix, later purchased by 4X Corporation. He worked there until his retirement in 1997.
Artie served in the Wisconsin National Guard and was Honorably Discharged as a Sergeant – E5. He built their first home on the family farm in 1960. In 1974, Artie built a new home in Omro and in 1986 built their third new home, also in Omro. Artie and his family were involved in the Elo Church throughout his life. Legend has it that Artie, a 17 year old trustee, signed the papers for a renovation at the church. He was involved in the organization of the Utica Volunteer Fire Department and served as Chief for eight years. Artie's passions in life were his family and friends. He was always ready to lend a helping hand (or a tool) and could fix or build just about anything. Artie was happiest when entertaining at his home, on his deck in Florida, or on his boat cruising down the Fox or Wolf River hauling in the fish. Art Sr., LeRoy and Alex are happy to have Artie driving the boat again and Adeline is in the kitchen ready with the filet knife.
Artie is survived by his devoted wife, Marilyn J. Bradley of Omro, WI, and his children: Jan and Paul Griedl of Berlin, WI, Kim and Paul Feldhake of White Fish Bay, WI, and Steve and Nancy Bradley of Olathe, KS. Artie's grandchildren are Jared (Janeen) Wagner, Tom (Heather) Bradley, Alex Cibik (deceased), Fred Cibik, Amy Greidl and Cassie Cibik. His great grandchildren are Austin Wagner, Garrett Wagner, Jason Bradley and Marissa Bradley. Artie leaves two sisters: Carol (Ronnie) Culver of Fisk, WI, and Cynthia (Ed) Hunter of Pickett, WI. His brothers and sisters-in-law include LeRoy (deceased) and Sharline Fiegel of Omro, Lowell and Margaret Fiegel of Scottsbluff, NE, Norman and Shirley Fiegel of Cheyenne, WY and Eleanor Kujawa (deceased) of Oshkosh. Artie will also be missed by his many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
We wish to thank the many caring people with the Oshkosh and Madison Centers of Fox Valley Hematology & Oncology S.C., Affinity Visiting Nurses Home Health and Hospice Services, who supported Artie and his family through his difficult journey.
Funeral services will be held at the Elo Church of the Nazarene at 1134 Williams Rd., Pickett, WI, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2009 with Reverend Judith Lipp officiating. Family and friends are invited to the visitation starting at 9:00 a.m. and continuing up to the start of the service. Burial will be at the Omro Cemetery immediately following the service. Family and friends will gather at the Elo Church after the burial for fellowship, lunch and a continuation of the celebration of Artie's life.

Prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Amen
