Barbara Ann (Brown) Bidwell, 84 years old, went to be with our Lord on September 5, 2017 in Omro, Wisconsin. She was born on March 31, 1933 in Chicago, Illinois to John and Lucille Brown. Barbara attended Waupaca High School, and later attended UW- Oshkosh where she obtained her 4 year Bachelor of Science Degree. On June 22, 1957 she married her sweetheart, Dwight R. Bidwell. They were married for 46 years until his death in 2003. Barbara was employed with UW- Oshkosh Campus School Kindergarten, H.B. Patch Elementary School, and she taught third grade for over 20 years, with her last teaching before retirement being spent for three years at Omro Junction School. Barbara was actively involved in her church. She was in the Choir, she was a deacon, a member of the Woman's Association, a Sunday school teacher, and she participated in Apple Fest and Vacation Bible School as well. Barbara had many wonderful times playing bridge. She loved to read. She enjoyed camping, cooking, and crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed the precious time she spent with her children, grandchildren, family and many friends. Barbara is survived by her daughter Denise (Brian) Mauel of Kaukauna, Wisconsin, her granddaughters: Emily, Sarah, and Hannah Mauel of Kaukauna, Wisconsin; her grandson: Joshua Mauel of Kaukauna, Wisconsin; Her son-in-law: Curtis Collins of Indiana, Her Daughter-in-law: Kelly Bidwell of Illinois, her brother and sister-in-law: Reginald and Lois Bidwell of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, as well as many special nieces, nephews cousins, and precious lifelong friends. Barbara is preceded in death by her husband Dr. Dwight R. Bidwell, her daughter: Deborah Lou Collins, her son David Dwight Bidwell, her parents: John and Lucille Brown, her sister and brother-in-law: Diane and Michael Bland, brother-in-law: Milton Bush, Sister and brother-in-law: Nancy and Jack Bishop, father and mother-in-law: James and Viva Bidwell, and sister-in-law Beverly Clausen. A memorial service for Barbara will take place on Saturday September 9, 2017 at 10:30 am at First Presbyterian Church in Omro. A time of visitation will take place from 8:30 am to 10:30 am at the church. A luncheon for Barbara will occur at the church following the memorial service with burial at Lakeside Cemetery in Waupaca.In lieu of flowers, memorials to Barbara will be used for youth activities, Omro Memorial Library, mission work. Your caring ways really made mom feel like family and Webster Manor was a good fit for her.
