Barbara J. Burgess, age 64, of Oshkosh passed away Sunday, June 29, 2008 at home. She was born on May 20, 1944 in Oshkosh, the daughter of Albert and Dorothy Metko. She graduated from Oshkosh High School and married Bob Burgess on September 18, 1965.

Barbara worked at Mercy Medical Center and later at Oshkosh B'Gosh for many years until the time it closed. She then worked at Optivision until the time of her retirement in October of 2007. She enjoyed decorating her lawn and tending to the flower garden. She was a dedicated Green Bay Packers, Timberattlers, and NASCAR fan. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Bob; son, Ken (Mary) Burgess; daughter, Kelly (Craig) Ronski; brother, Don (Shirley) Metko; grandchildren, Kyle, Amanda, Justin, Dalton, Evan; aunts and uncles; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Dorothy Metko.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at Seefeld Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street, with Reverend Martin Ruge officiating. A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at Lake View Memorial Park.
