Obituary

Barbara J. Hetzel, 69, of Winneconne, passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2008 at UW Madison Hospital after an extended illness. She was born on March 21, 1939 in Chester, Montana, a daughter of the late Albert and Catherine (Cummins) Lenz. Barb has been married to Philip C. Hetzel for nearly 48 years. Together they loved to travel, sometimes at the spur of the moment, to places like New York and Nashville. She was a Green Bay Packer fan, attending games regularly until her health prevented this. Barb retired from a secretarial position at Oshkosh West High School in 2000.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Phil Hetzel of Winneconne; children, Patrick (Janice) Hetzel of Weyauwega, Jill (Dan Smith) Hetzel of Oshkosh and Andrew (Lori) Hetzel of Beaver Dam; grandchildren, Kayla and Dakota Hetzel-Smith of Oshkosh and Natasha Hetzel of Beaver Dam; and sisters, Gloria (Ervin) Bartlett of Oshkosh, Mary Lou Smith of Saint Ignatius, Montana and Darlene (Jim) Beck of Townsend, Montana.

A memorial service to remember Barb will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 22nd, at the Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 300 N. Eagle Street. Father William Van DeKreeke will lead the service. Family and friends may gather at the Seefeld Eagle Street Chapel on Thursday beginning at 4:00 p.m. Barb will be laid to rest at Clayton Cemetery. Condolences may be shared on-line at www.seefeldfuneral.com.

Barb's family extends gratitude to the Theda Clark ER, their Med Flight team for their fast response and the UW Madison Critical Care team with Dr. Maki leading.

"I hope you dance."
