Barbara J. Mckay, age 71, passed away peacefully on April 13th, 2022. She was born on May 1st, 1951, to Catherine and Frank Lakins in San Antonio, Texas. Barbara was a beautiful, smart, courageous, spontaneous women who lived her life with her heart always in the right place. She enjoyed being around family, sitting in a library or even a comfy place in her home with a good murder mystery novel, watching the news with her morning coffee, making her weekly trips to Manderfield's, and listening to her favorite records. Those are just some of the many enjoyments Barbara has had throughout her life.

Barbara will be deeply missed by her children: Joplin Earl (David Earl), Cody Heckert (Kevin Heckert), and Cale Grant (DeAnna Grant); by her grandchildren: Amelia Earl, Devin Earl, Gracie Grant, Jacob Heckert, Maximus Heckert, Calie Grant, Alexis Grant and Olivia Grant; and by her great-grandchildren: Violet, David, Leland and Jaylen. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Catherine and Frank Lakins; by her brother, Robert Lakins; and by her two precious sons: Jessie and Aaron Grant (just babies).

She will be dearly missed by her dog Molly Mckay. She was truly her partner in crime, her best friend. Barbara loved her dog like no other. Between their adventures outside or morning coffee watching the news. They did it all together. It's a bond that will never be broken.

A visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until a time of sharing memories at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 20, 2022 at Kwiatkowski Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Barbara's name. Donations will be made to the Menasha public Library.
