Barbara J. Meyer, age 68, of Oshkosh, passed away at her home on Saturday, December 4, 2004. She was born on November 26, 1936 in Oshkosh, a daughter of the late George and Angeline (Girard) Samz. Barbara married William J. Meyer on May 15, 1955. The couple later divorced in 1982.
She had worked at the Hoffmaster Company in her early years and later at Oshkosh B'Gosh until her health required her retirement. Barbara greatly enjoyed crocheting, knitting, word search puzzles and the love of her family. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by two sons, Michael (Pam) Meyer of Oshkosh, Russell (Liz) Meyer of Beaver Dam; two sisters, Margaret (Del) Dreikson of Grafton, Elizabeth Utschig of Clilntonville; a brother, Donald (Louise) Samz of Omaha, Nebraska; five grandchildren, Jessica and Lucas Meyer of Oshkosh; Chris McGuire of Lomira, Courtney Smerling of Beaver Dam and David Smerling of Omro. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a brother, Lester Samz and a sister, Janet Neuman.
Per Barbara's wishes, there will be no visitation. A private family service will be held at a later date. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park Cemetery. The staff of Seefeld Funeral and Cremation Services is assisting the family with arrangements.
