Obituary
Barbara E. Rank, age 87, of Omro, WI, died on April 28, 2025, where she made her home at Country Villa in Omro, WI, surrounded by family. She was born on November 14, 1937, the daughter of Jewel P. Bolles and Elsie (Powell) Bolles
, in
Tucumcari,
New Mexico
. Her family moved around the southwestern U.S. settling in San Bernadino, CA, where she graduated from high school. She met her husband, Russell P. Rank, while he was stationed at Edwards Air Force Base. Their marriage of 58 years began
in San Bernadino,
CA, in 1957.
Barbara worked with her husband, Russell, running the family farm, until their retirement in the early 2000's. She was an active member of St. Mary ' s Catholic Church in Omro , and Farm Bureau Association. She hosted Homemakers groups at her home. Barbara and Russell enjoyed snowmobiling and traveling together in the winter to "follow" the snow. In retirement, they explored several parts of the U.S. on bus tours. She loved playing cards with friends in Omro and Pickett. She also enjoyed playing Scrabble.
Barb is survived by her children, Theresa (Jim) Granger of Apple Valley, MN, Mike (Cindy) Rank, of Van Dyne, WI, Steven (Ann) Rank of New Richmond, WI, John (Mary) Rank of Omro, WI; grandchildren, Aaron, Melissa, Daniel, Kelsey, Alex, and Elliott; great-grandchildren, Evan, Maya, Vera, Rowan, Hudson, Cohen, Alden, and Mina.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell; parents; her brother, Jewel P. Bolles, Jr.; daughter, Cheri Rank Llorens; and son, Kelly Rank.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 9:00am to 11:00am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 730 Madison Ave., Omro, WI. A Mass of Christian Burial will be immediately after. A private burial will be at Waukau Cemetery.
Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers to St. Mary's Catholic Church.
