Barbara M. Spanbauer, of Oshkosh, age 88, passed away at home, surrounded by her family, on Monday, October 19, 2015. She was born in Oshkosh on May 12, 1927, the daughter of the late Joseph and Ada (Crittenden) Gustavus. On March 21, 1952 she married Richard Spanbauer in Oshkosh. They enjoyed 63 years of marriage. She worked for S.N.C. for many years. Barbara enjoyed cooking, crossword puzzles and being with her family. She will be remembered for her smile and her love of everyone.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Dick; children: Carole Spanbauer, Robert (Peg) Spanbauer, Nancy (Glenn) Delzer, Christine (Tony) Doro, and Charles (Deb) Spanbauer; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Luther; and many nieces, nephews and good friends. She was preceded in death by her infant granddaughter, Sarah Beth; sisters: Lilly (Adolf) Knecht, Ada (Smitty) Smet and June (George) Reany; and brothers: Bud (Helen) Gustavus, Joseph (Catherine) Gustavus and Robert Gustavus.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 23, 2015 at the Seefeld Funeral Home. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday, October 22, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Lakeview Memorial Park, Oshkosh.
