Obituary

Bernice E. Cook, age 85, of Oshkosh, died Friday, February 19, 2016, at Bethel Home. She was born on February 23, 1930, the daughter of George and Meta (Hafemann) Reehl. Bernice married Cleo Cook in 1960, and he preceded her in death. She was a member, and the organist, of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Oshkosh. Bernice had also been a bookkeeper at Mercy Medical Center. She was a wonderful cook, loved to read and put together puzzles, and enjoyed watching the Packers.
Bernice will be forever remembered by her son, David Cook of Emerado, North Dakota; siblings: Doris Schultz of Butte, Montana, Marion Reehl of Omro, Charles (Kathy) Reehl of Van Dyne, Ruth Reehl of Oshkosh, Alta (David) Schuster of Wild Rose, and Ben (Virginia) Reehl of Mayville. She is further survived by 10 nieces and nephews; many great-nieces and great-nephews, and extended family. Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Harry Reehl; and her sister, Helen Reehl.
Funeral service for Bernice will take place at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 25, 2016, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1206 Ontario Street, Oshkosh. Her family will greet friends on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Her family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff and nurses at Bethel Home, Compassionate Care, and Affinity Hospice.
