Bernice G. Kemnitz, age 90, of Oshkosh, died Monday afternoon, September 4, 2006 at Northpoint Medical & Rehabilitation Center. She was born on March 8, 1916 in Oshkosh to Oscar and Emma (Neumann) Kemnitz.
Bernice was a lifetime member of First English Lutheran Church where she served over 40 years as a Sunday School Teacher and later as Superintendent. She was employed by ADVOCAP as a registrar at Marian Manor for 15 years.
Survivors include a brother, Wallace "Wally" (Rose) Kemnitz of Oshkosh; several nieces and nephews; many great-nieces and great-nephews, and a close special friend, Bette Wilson of Oshkosh. Preceding Bernice in death are her parents, a brother, Warren Kemnitz, and a sister, Germaine Kulzik.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. in First English Lutheran Church, 1013 Minnesota Street, with Reverend Nancy Krueger officiating. Interment will take place in Peace Lutheran Cemetery. A time of visitation and support will take place on Thursday from 12 Noon to 1:30 p.m. at the church. Memorials are requested to First English Lutheran Sunday School in Bernice's memory.
