Berniece L. Sorenson, age 88 of Oshkosh, died Monday, July 9, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center. She was born November 15, 1918 in the town of Aurora, the daughter of Harry and Mary (Vick) Rodencal. She married Elwood Sorenson on December 27, 1941.
Berniece was strong willed, independent, and always there for her daughters. She worked as a bookkeeper and office manager for Gunderson Cleaners for more than 20 years.
She is survived by daughters, Nancy (Mike) Powers of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan and Sharon Dyer of Tamworth, New Hampshire; grandchildren, Jonathan and Elizabeth Powers; sister, Jeanne Turner of Berlin; brothers, Gilbert Rodencal of Prairie du Sac and John (Mary) Rodencal of Wisconsin Rapids. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elwood; an infant son; her sister, Alice Mumma; and her parents.
Funeral services for Berniece will be held at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, July 12, 2007, at Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 300 North Eagle Street, Reverend Nancy Krueger officiating. A time of visitation for sharing of memories and support will be held on Thursday at the funeral chapel from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment will be in Mt. Morris Holden Cemetery.
