Our shining light has diminished. On September 13, 2009, Beryl Enid Ader went to be with her Savior, at the age of 97. She was born to Leroy and Jennie (Streeter) Carpenter on October 1, 1911. As a young girl her family raised Collies and sold one to former President Coolidge. Beryl was employed at the Diamond Match Company for a short period of time during World War II.
She married the love of her life, Wenzel Ader on September 27, 1930. They built their home together on Lark Street and had three sons: Harvey, Allan and Richard, fondly known as Dickie. Beryl had many hobbies including knitting, crocheting, playing cards, caring for her cat Sweetie, bird watching (she particularly liked the Purple Martins), going to her water aerobics class at the YMCA, going out to lunch, but most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Beryl is survived by her sons: Harvey (Marjorie) of Henderson, Nevada, Allan (Helen) of Oshkosh; her grandchildren, Roxanna, Douglas, Jeffrey, Randy, Craig, and JoAnn. She is also survived by ten great grandchildren and six great-great children, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. She loved to spend time with them even though they are spread across the United States. Beryl was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Richard; brothers Wayne and Cecil (Carp) Carpenter; grandson Michael and great-granddaughter, Melissa.
In respect to Beryl's memory, the family will greet friends at First Presbyterian Church, 110 Church Street, Saturday, September 19th from 9am until the time of the funeral service at 11am, with Reverend Tom Willadsen officiating. Her resting place will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery following the service. Please visit www.seefeldfuneral.com to send online condolences to the family.
The family would like to thank the Nursing Staff, 2 West, at Bethel Home for the loving care given to our mother, grandmother and friend.
