Beryl Nichols, 92, of Omro, passed away at Omro Care Center, Thursday, September 8, 2011, with her daughter and sister by her side. She was born August 30, 1919 in Rural, WI, the daughter of Henry and Hazel Ziebell. In November 1938, she married Kenneth Nichols. Her latest working years were spent at Oshkosh Care Centers as an aide and a cook, retiring at 62.
Before going to Omro Care Center, she lived at Fox View Manor for many years, where she always looked forward to dice and aggravation game nights. Beryl loved spending time with her family and going on scenic rides and shopping with her sister. Other favorite pastimes were doing her word search and jigsaw puzzles.
Survivors include daughter, Kathy (Jim) Romero of Waukau; granddaughter, Lisa Van Cuyk of Kimberly and great grandson, Jacob Van Cuyk of Kimberly (who both were her pride and joy); sister, Donna Haima of Omro; daughter-in-law, Lynn Nichols of Kimberly, and nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Kenneth Ziebell; former husband, Kenneth Nichols; son, Jerry Nichols; and brother in law, Walter Haima.
Beryl will be dearly missed and always remembered for her caring ways, putting family first, her sense of humor and always a smile no matter what.
The family would like to thank Omro Care Center for their kindness and concern during mom's stay, especially to nurses, B.J. and Sandy for their extra special care. Per Beryl's wishes, there will be no services.
