Obituary

Betty Jean "BJ" Crosby Fink passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2008. BJ was born on October 16, 1930 in Denver, Colorado to Don and Lillian Crosby. Her parents and brother, Don Jr. preceded her in death.

BJ married Richard Fink, of Oshkosh, in Denver on November 15, 1953. They celebrated their 54th anniversary this past year. They were blessed with two great children, Richard "Ric" Fink Jr. and Christin (Thomas) Pech Jr., and two grandchildren, Tripper and Samee Pech. BJ is further survived by her sister-in-law, Jean Zimmerman.

BJ started the Crosby Dance Studio in this area in 1963. She previously had eight dance studios, in the Midwest, with her brother Don. BJ turned over the teaching duties in 1995 to her daughter, Christin, who became a partner in the business in 1989.

BJ has also been active in community affairs. She served as president in the Oshkosh Newcomers Club, the Oshkosh Jaycettes, the Edgewater Dinner Dance Club, and Altrusa International of Oshkosh. She also was involved in many other community functions.

BJ always said she was married to the love of her life and best friend. She adored her two children, Ric and Chris, and was proud of all their accomplishments. She encouraged her grandchildren to always do their best and to follow their dreams.

Thousands of young people in our area have been taught to dance and learn confidence from BJ at the Crosby Dance Studio. She always had a smile for all who came in the door and welcomed them with love.

BJ asked that her family hold private memorial services. She asks that you send her family your notes and cards, or offer condolences online at www.seefeldfuneral.com, but in lieu of flowers for her, give a single rose or flower to those you love, and do not forget to tell your loved one, "I Love You," every chance you get. Dick always told her that every day.
