Betty "Sis" Jean Heppner, age 76, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2014. She was born in Chicago, IL on November 10, 1938 the daughter of the late George and Marie (Steingraber) Chelius. Sis married Charles "Chuck" Heppner, III. on April 21, 1958 where they lived in Brentwood, IL for many years before moving to Glenview, IL. The Heppners owned and operated Heppner's Foods until 1977, then moved to Oshkosh, WI and purchased Edison Estates Mobile Home Park. After retirement from the business Betty worked for the school district, part-time, in the food department from 1996-1999. She was a beloved wife and mother. Sis loved spending time with family and friends. She loved camping, traveling, snowmobiling, ice skating and playing in the snow. Further, she loved Christmas and Easter, and was a true fan of John Wayne.
Betty is survived by her husband, Charles; daughters: Nancy (Norman) Reichenberger and Susan (Daniel) Ziegler; grandchildren: Kevin (Brenda) Reichenberger, Amy (Kevin) Boldt, Daniel Ziegler II, Matthew Ziegler and Bradley (Sabrina) Lokken; great-grandchildren: Hannah Boldt, Hunter Reichenberger and Brayden Lokken; sisters-in-law: Shirley Heppner and Sandy Chelius; nieces: Cheryl and Cindy Chelius; and great-nephew, Jason Chelius. She was preceded in death by her parents; parents-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Heppner; brother, Mike Chelius; and brother-in-law, Donald Heppner.
The funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, January 19, 2015 at Seefeld Funeral Home. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday from11:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
