Betty E. Nemschoff, age 79, of Oshkosh, passed away on September 24, 2004 at Aurora Medical Center. She was born on October 21, 1924 in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of the late Sam and Mildred Myers. She married Bernard Nemschoff on September 27, 1947. He preceded her in death on March 18, 1983. Betty served in the US Navy WAVES during WWII. She and her husband resided in Oshkosh where they owned and operated the Beverage Mart for many years. Betty helped out in the store until she stayed home to raise their son, Bruce. She was a current resident of Evergreen Retirement Community. She was a member of the Temple B'Nai Israel where she taught Sunday school and was active in other Temple activities. She was also a member of the Sisterhood. Betty was a volunteer for the Mercy Hospital Auxilliary. She enjoyed membership in the 20th Century Club.
Betty is survived by her son, Bruce, and her former daughter-in-law, Linda Nemschoff; her brother, Bob (Adie) Myers of Alpena, Michigan; a sister, Ruth (Ben) Myers of Lake Worth, Florida and a sister, Marcia (Saul) Saretsky of Alpena, Michigan; a sister-in-law, Jeanette Rabinovitz of Sun City, Arizona; three grandchildren, Jamie, Emily and Michael Nemschoff all of Oshkosh. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many good friends. She was also preceded in death by a son, Ross Nemschoff.
Graveside services will be held for Betty on Sunday, October 3, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Lake View Memorial Park Cemetery. A luncheon for friends and family will follow the service. The Seefeld Funeral Chapel is assisting the family with funeral services. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Temple B'Nai Israel, Evergreen Retirement Community, Disabled American Veterans, Wisconsin Council for the Blind or the charity of one s choice in her name.
Betty s family would like to thank the staff at Evergreen, at Aurora and at the Gambro Dialysis Center for their care. Betty was a strong lady with a quick wit. She loved her family and friends very much. We will miss her.
