Betty L. Sherman, age 84, of Oshkosh, passed away peacefully in her sleep Saturday morning, April 21, 2012, at Park View Health Center, in the presence of her loving family. Born on April 22, 1927, in Oshkosh, the daughter of Carroll and Florence (Dittmer) Betts, Betty married John M. Sherman on July 29, 1950 in Chicago, Illinois.
A member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Betty enjoyed the time spent with her husband and family, shopping, baking, and traveling.
Mourning her passing is her devoted husband of almost 62 years, John Sherman of Oshkosh; loving children, Mark Thomas Sherman of Phoenix, Arizona, and Sally Jean (Daniel) Richter of Oshkosh; her adoring grandchildren, Tracy (Chris) Halfman of Tampa, Florida, Lori (Mike) Boelter of Oshkosh, Sara (Robert) Kaiser of Winneconne, Jeremy (Kelly) Sherman of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and Megan Sherman of Oconto, Wisconsin; seven special great-grandchildren, Zachary, Bristol, Bailey, Ben, Jada, Zoe, and Kallie; a brother, James (Janet) Betts of Oshkosh; two sisters, Arlene Roberts of Oshkosh, and Audrey Snyder of Lakewood, Colorado. Preceding Betty in death are her parents and a grandson, Michael Richter .
A memorial talk will be held on Monday, April 23, 2012, at 7:00 p.m. in Seefeld Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street. A time of visiting and sharing of memories will be held on Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Please visit www.seefeldfuneral.com to share condolences online.
