Beverly Alene Pearson Hooks, Age 74, passed away at Alterra Sterling House of Neenah March 27, 2007.
Beverly Alene was born July 29th 1932 in Roswell, New Mexico to Paul and Marguerite Pearson. She graduated from Anchorage High School in Anchorage Alaska in 1951. She was an accomplished vocalist and went to Willamette University on a vocal scholarship. Upon returning to Alaska in 1952, she worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. This is where she met and married the love of her life Wayne Hooks on August 30, 1953. Wayne was in the Army and U.S. Air Force, so they traveled all over the world on his assignments.
Beverly loved teaching, singing, making wedding arrangements, arts and crafts and being a wonderful mother. She loved sharing her birth date with her grand-daughter Loni and great- grandson Halen.
She was a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and loved the Lord. She served a mission for the church in Salt Lake City, Utah in the 1980's.
She was preceded in death by her husband Wayne and her parents.
She is survived by 3 sons and 1 daughter: Jeffrey (Shan) of San Antonio, Texas, Joel (Sheila) of Bullard, Texas, Troy (Donna) of Plainfield, Wisconsin and Connie (Peter) Protz of Oshkosh, Wisconsin. 9 grandchildren, Sam and Andy Hooks, Jason and Amanda Hooks, Shalaun Cartwright, Clinton, Loni and Chelsea Lyons, Ivan Hooks; 3 great-grandchildren Mitchell, Halen and Lydia Cartwright. She is also survived by her sister, Janis (Tom) Lawson of Martinsville, Indiana, sister-in-law, Lois (Jim) Phillips of Arvada, Colorado; numerous nieces and nephews, and many special friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you and appreciation to all the wonderful staff from Alterra Sterling House of Neenah, Heartland Hospice, Dr. Green and staff from Aurora Hospital of Oshkosh and the LDS members who provided spiritual care and blessings.
Services for Beverly are being held at Sunset Memorial Park and Funeral Home in San Antonio Texas on Friday, April 6, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. with burial at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 2:00 P.M.
