Brian Edward Brueggemann, age 60, of Omro, Wisconsin, passed away on October 8, 2018, after an extensive journey with cancer. Brian was born on August 29, 1958, in Milwaukee, the son of Lloyd and Dorothea (Schmidt) Brueggemann. He graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran High School in 1976.
He was employed at A. Fillinger, was the former owner/operator of Rosco's Bar and Eatery in Mercer, Wisconsin, and worked over 30 years at GO Riteway. Brian was a devoted father who spent many nights attending his two sons sporting events. He enjoyed many hours outdoors – hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and grilling. Brian was especially fond of spending his time in Mercer and Friess Lake. He will be remembered for his contagious laugh, his resiliency, and his amazing ability to love and see only the good in those he loved.
Brian is survived by his two loving sons, Luke (Autumn) Brueggemann of Borth and Cody Brueggemann of Omro; Julie Canarr, the mother of their children; a brother, Roy (Elaine) Brueggemann of New Berlin; four nephews, Ryan (Hillery), Glenn, Gary, and Paul Brueggemann; other nieces and nephews, Tamara, Amanda, Megan, Clay, and Spencer. He will be greatly missed by all his friends, family, and dogs, Rudy and Zeke. Brian was preceded in death by his parents and past furry friends.
Memorial funeral services will be held on Friday, October 19, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. in Kwiatkowski Funeral Home, 425 Jefferson Ave, Omro, with Reverend Richard Bartholomew officiating. Family and friends may gather at the funeral on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials to the family would be appreciated.
