Bruce A. Ebel, age 69, of Oshkosh, died Monday, June 27, 2016, at his home. Bruce was born on January 2, 1947, in Oshkosh, to Ralph and Jayne (Mueller) Ebel. He attended Roosevelt grade school, graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1965, and attended UWO from 1973 to 1974. Bruce married Michele Susan (Philipp) Kolb in 1981, who preceded him in death in 2011.
Bruce had many jobs over the years, but the most memorable were owning and operating a tavern business from 1974 to 1987, working at Muza Metal Products, and Centracor (Newark Paperboard), all in Oshkosh. Bruce enjoyed playing darts and owned a dart store called Dartland Plus. He loved to fish and was a lifetime member of Otter Street Fishing Club. Bruce enjoyed Wisconsin sports and followed the Bucks, Badgers, Brewers, and Packers, of which he was a stockholder.
Bruce is survived by his five children; daughters: Vicki Ebel, Jodi Ebel and Jennifer Rockey (Ebel); sons: David (Courtney) Kolb and Matthew (Joannie) Kolb. He is further survived by thirteen grandchildren; a great-grandson; sister in laws; brother in laws; cousins; nieces; and nephews. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 30 years, Michele Ebel; and a sister, Sandra Ebel.
Bruce was known for his amazing and contagious sense of humor, he always had a joke to make you smile. His laughter could be heard from afar. He enjoyed diverse company, and meeting new people. More than anything else in the world, Bruce loved his family.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at 6:00 p.m., in Seefeld Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street, Oshkosh.
