Burnett L. Roberts, age 94, of rural Eldorado, died Friday evening, March 12, 2010, at Tower View Villa in Rosendale. Born on February 18, 1916, in the Township of Eldorado, to John G. and Lydia A. (Will) Gillen, Burnett married William J. Roberts on May 25, 1935. Together, they farmed in the Eldorado area until Bill's death on February 14, 1976.


An important part of the day to day farm operations, Burnett also enjoyed baking, especially bread and angel food cakes. An active member of St. John Lutheran Church of Nekimi, Burnett was also a member of Mary Martha Bible Study Group, Senior Saints, and AAL.


Left to mourn her passing are five sons, Marlo (Mary) Roberts of Van Dyne, Arland (Roane) Roberts of Omro, Laverne Roberts of Oshkosh, Darrell (Sally) Roberts of Rosendale, and Larry (Cheri) Roberts of Van Dyne; four daughters, Rosalie Pfeiffer of Waupun, Darlene Zwicky of Pickett, Sharon Bradley of Oshkosh, and Beverly ( Michael) Gantner of Van Dyne; a daughter -in-law, Jeneane Roberts of Milwaukee; 25 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren. Preceding Burnett in death is her husband; a son, Duane Roberts; two sons-in-law, Robert Pfeiffer and Lee Zwicky; a daughter-in-law, Gerri Roberts; two grandsons, Marlo Roberts Jr. and James Roberts; a granddaughter, Laurie Ann Pfeiffer; five brothers and two sisters.


Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. in St. John Lutheran Church (491 Old Oregon Road) with Reverend James Reiff officiating. Interment will follow the service at St. John Lutheran Cemetery. A time of visitation and sharing of memories will be held on Thursday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church.
