Carlton "Carl" F. Schmidt,
age 76 of Oshkosh, died peacefully at home, with family by his side, on Saturday,
January 23, 2010. He was born on October
2, 1933 to Fred and Clara (Hirte) Schmidt.
On May 3, 1958 he married Carol J. Hohenwalter. They enjoyed 51 years together.


Helpful and caring are
words used to describe Carl, not to mention stubborn. He worked for Oshkosh Truck for 31
years. After retirement he could be
found working as a school crossing guard, which he loved. Carl enjoyed playing cards with the family, visiting
the casino and watching the Packers and Badgers; few things gave him greater
joy than from being with his grandchildren.


Mourning the death of Carl
is his wife, Carol; children: Linda O'Krueg, Barb (Darwin) Schwartz, and Pam
(George) Harrington; grandchildren: Jeremy (Lorianna), Jason, Andrew (Shaleen),
Amy, and Tanner; his great-granddaughter, Lilie, and four sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents and
three sisters.
