Carmela L. Kurtz, age 50, of Eldorado, Wisconsin, died Sunday morning, April 12, 2009 at her home. Born on October 22, 1958 in Oshkosh to Earl and Carolyn "Susie" (Monfre) Newcomb, Carmela married Steve Kurtz on January 18, 1991 in Oshkosh.
A former member of Algoma United Methodist Church, Carmela was a volunteer for Job's Closet and a school bus driver of ten years for United Cerebral Palsy.
Left to mourn her passing is her husband, Steve Kurtz of Eldorado; her children, Steve (Mandy Krause) Kurtz II of Ripon, Crystal (Nick Bell) Ramsdell of Montello, Dan (Carly Howden) Kurtz of Fond du Lac, and John (Michele) Ramsdell of Eldorado; seven grandchildren; a sister Bonnie (Terry) McHugh of Texas, and a brother, David Newcomb of Alaska. Preceding Carmela in death are her parents; step-father, John Ternes; grandmother, Lydia Monfre; and a sister, Karen Newcomb.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street, with Chaplain Dan Edwards officiating. A time of visitation and sharing of memories will be held on Thursday from 12 Noon to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Interment will be in Ellenwood Cemetery following the service.
