Carmon H. Hoppe, age 67, of Oshkosh, died Friday morning, December 15, 2006 at Aurora Medical Center. He was born on October 18, 1939 in Oshkosh to Fred and Myrtle (Andersen) Hoppe. Carmon married Carol Panoch on November 7, 1970. She preceded him in death on February 19, 2000.
Carmon was employed by Victory Lite Candle Company for many years. He was a member of Algoma Blvd. United Methodist Church. He enjoyed playing his accordion and enlarging his model railroad display. The personnel with Meals on Wheels were his extended family. "After 2 years of exercise and Meals on Wheels, losing over 200 pounds, he lost a person and gained a life." Survivors include brothers and sisters-in-law; 7 cousins, Joan (Michael) Meyer, Gloria (Lonnie) Hayne, Darlene (Jim) Rosencrans, Beverly Andersen, Keith (Kay) Jensen, Lois Pedersen, Robert "Bobby" Rothe, and Ginny Andersen; three dear friends, Tom Koch, Darlene and Richard Gehrke; and his beloved cat, Tiger.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. in Algoma Blvd. United Methodist Church, 1174 Algoma Blvd., with Reverend Barry Yarbro officiating. Inurnment will be in Peace Lutheran Cemetery. A time of visitation and support will be held on Tuesday from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. at the church. Memorials are requested to Algoma Blvd. United Methodist Church.
