Obituary

Carol Ann Knight

5/14/39-9/14/24

Carol Ann "Annie" (Spanbauer) Knight, age 85, unexpectedly passed away in Oshkosh, Wisconsin on Saturday, September 14, 2024. Carol was born at Mercy Hospital, one of two daughters to Lucille (Dietzo) Spanbauer and Jordon Frank Spanbauer on May 14, 1939.  Carol attended and graduated from Oshkosh high school class of 1957

After high school she worked for Wisconsin National Life Insurance Company, later met and married Marvin James Knight on October 1, 1966, in Oshkosh Wisconsin and became a homemaker. Together, they raised three boys; Carol and Marv were known for waltzing on their roller-skates and waltzing at Marv 's work parties. We were told they looked like they were gliding on the floor with passion.

Carol had such a love for her faith, family, and friends. Carol was always humming along to her own tunes, arms up in the air and dancing with the sweetest/goofy smile on her face. At Sunday family dinners we were always laughing at her uncensored goofy jokes.

Her hobbies were yoga, canning, gardening, going to church, going to the Delta restaurant with high school alumni, puzzles and nightly dinners with her Evergreen family and friends. Oh, and she loved talking on the phone, conversations never went dry with her.

She was also a special part in and able to see her children and grandchildren marry and grow their families as well.

Carol was a volunteer at the United Way, The Place 2 Be, and helping clean pews at Saint Vincent's (Saint Jude 's) church.

She is survived by her sons, Kevin (Erin) Knight, Keith (Lisa) Knight, and Kirk (Jeanne) Knight; grandchildren, Natosha Knight, Miranda (Tyler) Bellile, Alisha (Chris) Blattler Zachary (Dale) Knight, Krystal (Josh) Bervid, Kamden Knight and Keli Mertz; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Lynette (Tom) Larson; sister-in-law, Ruth (Don) O'Brien, and many other family and friends.

Greeting Carol at the gates of heaven was her husband, Marvin Knight; her parents; as well as many other friends and family.

Per her wishes a private family service will be held.

A very special thank you to the staff at Evergreen Retirement Community. Also, a very special thank you to her very close friends for all the love, support and care she received over the years.

Per Carol, her last words were to be-

" Adiós " [arms going up in the air]
