Carol J. Miller, age 74, of Oshkosh, died Thursday afternoon, April 2, 2015, at Aurora Medical Center. Born on April 24, 1940, in Oshkosh, the daughter of Gerhard and Edna Schumacher, Carol married Gerald Miller on August 7, 1959, at St. John Lutheran Church of Nekimi. Gerald preceded Carol in death on May 4, 2001.
A graduate of Rosendale High School, Carol was a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Nekimi. She enjoyed playing cards, cooking, baking, traveling, and trips to the casino. Carol was known to be an avid Packer Fan.
Survivors include three grandsons, Garrett, Jared, and Jacob Miller; two daughters-in-law, Kimberly Guy-Miller and Michelle Cross; a sister, Arlene Zarling; a sister-in-law, Karen Miller; a brother-in-law, Bruce Miller; special friend, Jerry Tank; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Preceding Carol in death is her husband, parents, two sons, Mark and Paul Miller, brothers, Hilbert and Leon Schumacher, brother-in-law, Lawrence Zarling, sister-in-law, Myrtle Schumacher, and aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 6, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. in St. John Lutheran Church (491 Old Oregon Road), with Reverend James Reiff officiating. Interment will follow the services at St. John Lutheran Cemetery. A time of visiting and sharing of memories will be held on Monday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Memorials in Carol's name may be given to Zeta Lambda Sigma Chi Fraternity for Huntsman Cancer Institute, St. John Lutheran Church, or Hospice.
