Carol M. Reinke, 71, of Oshkosh passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 22, 2009, at UW Hospital in Madison. She was born in Oshkosh on July 29, 1937, daughter of the late Joseph and Florence (nee Seifeldt) Paulick. Carol married the love of her life, Fred Reinke, on November 27, 1954 in Oshkosh. Fred passed away on January 11, 1976, leaving Carol to raise the family. Carol was a very hard working individual who held many jobs over the years. These included working at Jess & Nick's, Buckstaff, Hoffmaster, and Winnebago Mental Health Institute. She was a wonderful mother with a strong Catholic background which helped set the tone for teaching her children to be responsible. When it came to her grandchildren, well, she just spoiled them.
Carol was the beloved mother of Daniel (Cynthia) Reinke, Douglas Reinke, Sharon (Mark) Heiser, Robert Reinke, Paula (Andrew) Heun and Diane Reinke (former daughter-in-law) all of Oshkosh; dear grandmother of Alicia (fiance Aaron) Reinke, Dylan Heiser, Paul (special friend Megan) Reinke, Erica (Jay) Johnson, Christopher Reinke, Brandon and Mackenzie Heun; and great-grandmother of Alexandria Fredrick and Charlotte Johnson. She is survived by 2 sisters and 4 brothers, and was preceded in death by another brother.
Most will remember Carol for her outgoing nature and wonderful sense of humor. Her loving and caring relationship with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren made those relationships precious. She taught the young ones to dance to Elvis Presley, was an avid reader of mystery novels and had a passion for antiquing, which turned into an income producing business as she traveled the many flea markets in the area buying and selling treasures. Carol always had a smile to share, a story to tell and a way to make you laugh.
