Freedom
The form you knew
was but a shell
which held and served
the soul quite well.
The voice now mute
The eyelids closed
All movements stilled
The form reposed.
The friendly smile
The outstretched hand
Responded to
The soul's command
All earthly signs
Of life are done
But form and soul
Were never one.
Don't mourn the form
That once was me
For now my soul
Is truly free.
