Carolyn J Dolata (nee Trochinski), aged 78, passed away peacefully on June 10th, in Wausau, WI. She was born on April 22, 1947, in Fond du Lac, WI to Leonard & Wilma Trochinski. She was raised in Berlin, WI on a family dairy farm with five adventurous siblings. She graduated from Berlin High School in 1965. In 1966 Carolyn married the love of her life, Anthony Dolata Jr. Together, they raised 3 children while living in Appleton, WI.
Carolyn was a wonderful person who had many hobbies. She was a professional seamstress and spent much of her life creating beautiful wedding gowns for lucky brides. She also had a passion for flowers, as was reflected in her gardens, in the house, and later in her career as a floral designer. She also loved watercolor painting and making quilts. There are many loved ones that have her watercolors adorning their walls and are being kept warm on chilly nights under one of her beautiful creations.
Carolyn is survived by her children: Tony III & Becky Dolata, Dale, WI; Rosemary Dolata, Minneapolis, MN; Martina & Mark Strehlow, Prescott, WI. Her four grandchildren, whom she loved deeply: AJ Dolata IV, Appleton, WI; Mallory Strehlow, Minneapolis, MN; Tess Dolata, Butte, MT; Liam Strehlow, Minneapolis, MN. Her siblings: James Kress, Oshkosh, WI; Nancy Trochinski, Berlin, WI; Jerry & Barb Trochinski, Berlin, WI; Eugene & Mary Jo Trochinski, Winterpark, FL, Cathy & Randy Ellis, Cato, WI.
In addition, she is also survived by a large family of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends from all phases of her life.
She will be greatly missed by her many loved ones.
She is preceded in death by: her husband, Anthony Dolata Jr; her parents, Leonard & Wilma Trochinski; siblings, Richard Trochinski & Evelyn Kress; plus other friends and relatives that she is looking forward to being reunited with in heaven.
Funeral services will be held in Omro at the Kwiatkowski Funeral Home in Omro, WI on Saturday, June 14th. Visitation will be at 9am, Service at 10am, and Burial in Waukau at 11am.
In lieu of flowers, we will be donating memorial gifts to a few of her favorite organizations and educational scholarships.
A huge thank you goes out to her wonderful hospice care team who have spent over 2 years keeping her here with us in good spirits. We also thank Cedar Creek Manor who helped with her transition in the last week of her life. We appreciate all of you and thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
