Carolyn M. "Susie" Ternes, age 71, of Oshkosh died Thursday, March 26, 2009 at Bethel Home. She was born December 8, 1937 in Oshkosh to John and Lydia (Scheureman) Monfre. Carolyn married Earl Newcomb on October 18, 1957 and he preceded her in death in June 1965. She later married John Ternes on November 26, 1971 and he preceded her in death in January 2005. Carolyn was strong in her Methodist faith and is finally at peace with her Lord and Savoir.

Carolyn is survived by her loving children: Bonnie (Terry) McHugh of Texas, David Newcomb of Alaska, Carmela (Steve) Kurtz of Eldorado; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; her daughter, Karen Newcomb and brother, Santo John Monfre.

Funeral services for Carolyn will take place at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 29, 2009 at Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street with Chaplain Dan Edwards officiating. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park.
