Catherine Leona (Langkau) Cartwright, died Saturday, June 13, 2009 at Park View Health Center. She was born July 10, 1921 in Oshkosh to Robert and Mary (Brown) Langkau. On February 9, 1946 she married Wilbert G. Cartwright and together they shared 45 years of marriage. Wilbert preceded her in death on December 20, 1991. She worked for Johnson Foods until her retirement in 1983. She was a life long member of St. John Catholic Church and belonged to its Ladies Society for many of years. Catherine was also a life long member of the West Bend Chapter of P.O.W. with her husband. Above all Catherine loved her family, being a homemaker and enjoyed helping others in any way she could. She loved to work in her garden, taking care of her flowers, vegetables and watching the birds, as well as taking care of her cats.

Catherine is survived by her loving children: Danny (Paula) Cartwright of Oshkosh, Robert (Susan) Cartwright of Oshkosh, JoAnn (Paul) Downey of Middleton, Patrick (Stephanie) Cartwright of Oshkosh, Kathleen Cartwright of Oshkosh; her cherished grandchildren: Andrew (Kim) Cartwright, Ann Cartwright, Amy (Thomas) McGovern, James (Kristina) Cartwright, Amanda (Justen Reed) Kasuboski, John and Emily Cartwright; and great-grandchildren: Isabelle and Bennett Cartwright, Matthew and Brianna McGovern and Wyatt Wilbert Reed; sister-in-laws: Bea and Esther Langkau, Gwen Cartwright, Delores Hedges, Arlene Polar, as well as many nieces, nephews, and many very close friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers: Steve, Joe, Leo, Bob, Matt, Cliff, Lawrence Langkau, and sisters: Leona Ruedinger and Marie Sommers.

Mass of Christian Burial for Catherine will take place at 11:00a.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2009, at St. Jude the Apostle Parish - St. Vincent site, 1225 Oregon Street, with Father William Van De Kreeke officiating . Visitation will take place on Tuesday at Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. There will be a prayer service at the funeral home at 7:00p.m. on Tuesday. A memorial has been established in Catherine's name.
