Cecil O. Gray, age 63, of Oshkosh, died Wednesday evening, February 25, 2009 at Aurora Medical Center. He was born on November 14, 1945 in Wyocena, Wisconsin to Joseph and Beatrice (Lafler) Gray. Cecil received his degree in Occupational Therapy and was the founder of the Oshkosh Protection Agency. He was currently employed by ABM Janitorial Service of Milwaukee.
A people-person, Cecil enjoyed working with the employees of Mercury Marine in Oshkosh. He was a former Volunteer Deputy Sheriff for Winnebago County, collector of vintage model cars, a coin collector, and a "tinkerer at heart". His grandchildren gave joy and meaning to his life.
Left to mourn his passing is five children, Tony (Dixie) Gray of Oshkosh, Troy Gray of Oshkosh, Trevor (Jamie) Gray of Oshkosh, Tessa Gray of Oshkosh, and Megan Gray of Wisconsin; nine grandchildren, Taylor, Tyler, Michael, Mandy, Allen, Emilee, Katlyn "Tator", Ireland, and Hayden; six brothers and sisters, Rosetta Gray of California, Richard (Phyllis) Gray of Oshkosh, Joseph (Judy) Gray of Portage, Eugene Gray of Ripon, Barb Gray of Portage, JoAnn Gray of Portage, and many nieces and nephews. Preceding Cecil in death is his life-long soul-mate, Amber Gray, his parents, a daughter, Amanda Gray, a granddaughter, Kayla Gray, and a sister-in-law, Linda Gray.
A service to remember Cecil's life will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, March 2, 2009 in Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 300 North Eagle Street. A time of visiting and sharing of memories will be held on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and on Monday from 12:30 p.m. to service time at the funeral chapel.
