Obituary
Cerella J. Elmer, age 89 of Oshkosh, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 7, 2010 at Aurora Medical Center. She was born September 28, 1921 in Oshkosh, the daughter of the late George and Anna Fox.
Cerella married Orin Elmer on May 1, 1943. He preceded her in death on May 11, 1996. Cerella is survived by her son Dennis (Jeanne Baivier) Elmer and her daughter Sherra Elmer. She is also survived by her granddaughter Ann Elmer.
Cerella worked for Frank Whiting of Neenah and for Frank Stein's Dress Shop as a buyer. Later Cerella and Orin owned and operated Johnson Foods, Inc., a wholesale food distributor located in Oshkosh.
Cerella loved gardening, convertibles, cooking and being the hostess for many family get togethers. The joy of her life was being the grandmother to Annie. Cerella was a woman of kindness and generosity to her family and friends. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and mother-in-law. She will be remembered with great love and affection.
Cerella was also preceded in death by her infant daughter, Ann Marie and by her siblings, John Foxx, George Fox, Marie Cartwright, Esther Hansen, Oliver Fox, Edward Fox, Arnold Fox and Dora Mae Fox. She is further survived by her brother Vernon Fox and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at a visitation on Thursday, November 11, 2010 at Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 300 North Eagle Street, from 5:00p.m. until 7:00p.m. Private interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers and to honor Cerella's love of gardening a memorial has been established.
